If you are only allowed to visit one city other than your own home town before you die then pick New York. It probably encapsulates USA as much as Sydney reflects Australian life; ie, it doesn't, but it is a town that must be experienced.

My beautiful wife has many talents, one of which is the ability to plan any event, trip, or more importantly, honeymoon, with such precision and detail that, if she had decided to join the Military Services after she left school, she would have been a Major-general by now. I am in awe of all of her skills & talents; especially her ability to plan things with military precision.

As you will see from the photographs that are in the Gallery that follows, we did the touristy things such as the Staten Island Ferry, the Statue of Liberty; the Empire State Building; Time Square and the Sex and the City Tour but although a picture is worth a thousand words, neither the photos nor the words can truly capture life in New York city. Just go.
